Mousavi Vs. Tavakoli
Sep 23rd, 2009 by pedestrian
Mousavi and Tavakoli have been writing back and forth.
Ahmad Tavakoli is a current MP, and was the minister of labor under Mousavi (though he later resigned). After the Quds day protests he wrote a letter addressed to Mousavi accusing him of “wanting to break the establishment along with breaking himself” and also “reminding” him that “the Imam was never happy with the government’s conduct [under Mousavi] but kept silent due to the war.”
Now Beheshti, Mousavi’s chief adviser has written a reply.
One of Tavakoli’s main criticisms was a slogan pro-Mousavi protesters were chanting on Quds day (I will have more on that later, I wanted to write about it before I saw the response). Beheshti says: we have problems with that slogan too, but who said they were as widespread as you claim? And who is responsible? Why is Mousavi the responsible party when he has been silenced and has no medium to speak? YOUR side is the one who controls all the media inside the country.
He also addresses Tavakoli’s claims about Ayatollah Khomeini’s disapproval of Mousavi’s government.
…. it’s an interesting exchange.
