Tavasol.com is a site where you leave your prayer. I’m trying to figure out who the site belongs to, it seems to have a very religious theme, but there are some really funny prayers in there. Including this one:
“dear god, [please help] this girlfriend of mine have her period so I can rest assured that she’s not pregnant.”
Granted, it doesn’t sound funny in English. But given the look and feel of the site, the image of the mosque, the name, … seeing something like that takes you by surprise.

Where was this site when I was eighteen?! lol
Like I told Naj, I read the koran cover-to-cover when I was twenty. I found it baffling. Of course, I read an academic translation in english. It must be really nice in Arabic- right?
I’ve got an Iran religion story. My American mother is catholic. Back when we were living in Tehran, my mom wanted to go to church, so my dad had to accompany her. (You know there is a very small but ancient tradition of catholic churches in Iran- right?) So anyway, my dad goes to take her inside, when a fellow Iranian street-side looks at him wide eyed, and in a manner suggesting averted peril at the last possible moment, tells him “no no, this isn’t what you think it is, you don’t want to go in there”. My dad was dumbstruck, but continued to walk mom into the church, whereupon he endured in his own words “an annoying experience” of mom’s churchgoing.
I guess you had to be there…
LOL oh i needed that today.. MERSI
‘baffling’ in a bad way or a good way? or just incomprehensible?
Which church was this? the one at villa?
