I had this link at the bottom, when talking about Dr. Arash Alaie and his brother, Dr. Kamiar Alaie.
But it really deserves a post of its own.

The heroin addiction problem in Iran is really sad to see.
I wish since the government is obviously having little success in ridding Iran of it economic woes and lack of job opportunities would at least make less dangerous drugs more widely available so bored youth would at least stay off dangerous drugs like heroin.
Artanian, I am by no means an expert, but this is the question I too keep going back to: can’t there be some sort of effort to distribute less lethal drugs? Especially the Amphetamine-type stimulants that have been on the rise in the past few years … why can’t kids just smoke pot instead?
From another great city devastated by drug-trafficking – another solitary dancer, ravaged but undaunted, to salute Mohammed and his quest:

I suppose the reason would most likely be a religious matter and the fact that it might anger more conservative minded families. However if it is a religious matter it wouldn’t make much sense to keep tobacco legalized while other similar drugs are kept illegal and are much harder to get access to compared to hard drugs.
Also whatever happened to just smoking opium? I remember my father telling me that was a rather popular past time in Iran when I was young.
Parvati, I love Lina Sastri! what is she signing about?
I wonder where Mohammad is today, if he’s still with Fereshteh and clean of drugs …
Artanian, yes, “good ol’ opium”!
I never thought I’d say that, but given the recent lethal drugs parading in Tehran, I must.
Dear Parvati,
thank you for that interpretation of the Neapolitan Carosone-song “Maruzzella” by Lina Sastri.
