Photo of the Day
Dec 1st, 2009 by pedestrian

I don’t know why, but everything about the life – and even death – of Kordan, the Ahmadinejad minister with a fake “honorary degree from Oxford” has to have a kick or a laugh to it.
Remember Mohammad Ali Ramin?
He was at a funeral service for the late Kordan, and apparently his shoes were stolen.
The readers over at AyandehNews are convinced that this was a setup so he could show how “humble and down to earth” he is. Their reasoning: he’s a deputy minister, so he could have found other ways of leaving the ceremony, this photo was distributed by a pro-Ahmadinejad website, Parcham, so they wanted everyone to see it.
I’m not convinced it was a conspiracy, but it does make for a great “photo of the day” moment.
lol
i thought he is trying to protect his new shoes.
I forgot to mention naj, that that was another one of the theories on AyandehNews. Some readers commented that he probably had new shoes on and he was trying not to get them dirty.
I did stole a pair of shoes from a mosque once!
Ped: last night I had a very good night sleep, but those finnish girls didn’t show up. bastards
roozbeh, WHY?! That’s TERRIBLE
My friends shoes were stolen from our school’s namaz khaneh (prayer room) on numerous occasions, it’s such a mean thing to do!
Try a different nationality next time. Finland is too far from Iran.
Well, we went inside the mosque with my cousin Goodarz to watch Bruce Lee movie! When we get out his Damapeies where gone (dam-pai, sounds like a great word now that I think of it, I am looking for a dog’s name, maybe Dampaei would be a good one), he was 4 years younger than me, so all I could think of is ask him to get another pair of dampai (which were nicer).
lol. During the war, I remember my uncle would go to the mosque to watch movies. dampaie is different and his was missing. I thought you stole a pair of shoes for no reason.
You are right. Dampaie sounds like an awesome dog name.
no reason? I don’t think I have ever done something with no reason… have you?
sure, all the time. don’t you ever do anything w/o thinking about it first? you know, spur of the moment, spontaneous things. I thought it was in that spirit which you stole the shoe.
I just consulted wiki and according to Freud, there is a reason for every tiny, minute thing you do, you just don’t know it
roozbeh, neither wikipedia or Freud are omniscient … it’s not like they are the supreme leader, they can make mistakes!
and that’s what I mean: doing things (whether there is a reason or not) but without knowing the reason that very minute.
his beard seems to have lost its startling orange hue since your last post about him. or perhaps it’s an effect of the lighting.
Este’mar-e Pir, you are right. But I think it’s just the lighting. I’ve seen his picture for years and he’s always had that orange hue.
We’ll have to wait and see!
Watching movies in the mosque?! Huh! I have never been to any mosques, unless the ones that are monuments now and no longer mosques, really. Where do they show films?
naj, I don’t know about now. But during the war, in the little town my grandparents were hiding, the mosque was the only place my uncle could go to see movies.
Well, it’s not unusual. Depends on the type of movies being shown. Obviously, no nudity, only movies that parents can safely watch with their pre-teen children, these are the only kind of movies that my priests would allow to be shown in the church basement.
